Home Education
The families at Abundant Grace Community Church take very seriously Scripture's command to train up their children in the way they should go. We believe this means that parents are ultimately responsible for their children's education, regardless of what educational alternative they choose. Some of the families at AGCC have chosen to home educate their children. While this is not the only biblical alternative, we recognize it as an excellent option for reinforcing the primary role parents play in the education and character development of their children.
In recognition of the unique challenges and responsibilities related to homeschooling, we have a newly formed ministry to support member families who have chosen this educational alternative. We do this in three areas: parent education, field trips & fun activities, and classes.
There is much for a new homeschooling parent to learn, so we are planning an annual New Homeschooler's Orientation Meeting where experienced homeschooling moms share on topics such as "How to Comply with Legal Requirements" and "How to Plan and Schedule a School Year".
